  5. 10 Best Unlimited Bandwidth VPS Hosts in 2025

10 Best Unlimited Bandwidth VPS Hosts in 2025

Not many VPS hosting providers offer unlimited bandwidth, and many of the ones that claim to offer “unlimited” or “unmetered” bandwidth throttle speeds or have fair use policies in place. That can be a serious drawback for high-resource sites like streaming platforms or e-commerce stores. This makes finding a decent VPS host with unlimited bandwidth like finding a needle in a haystack.

My colleagues and I signed up for and tested all the most popular VPS hosts around the world. I’ve examined our results, and there are only a few VPS hosts with unlimited site traffic that are actually worth your money.

You can also consider widening your search to VPS hosts that offer a ton of monthly bandwidth to the point that it’s nearly unlimited. If you stay open-minded about this prospect, you may find a host that delivers far more than just a generous amount of bandwidth.

After reviewing the results, I managed to cut it down to the top ten, with Kamatera beating the competition for the top spot. It offers two bandwidth options: 1 to 5 TB/month with high transfer rates of up to 10 Gbps or unlimited bandwidth with a maximum speed of 50 Mbps. You can try Kamatera for free or read on for more noteworthy unlimited VPS plans.

Short on Time? These Are the Best Unlimited Bandwidth VPS Hosts in 2025

  1. Kamatera Powerful cloud VPS hosting with a choice of unlimited 50 Mbps bandwidth or generous high-speed bandwidth.
  2. IONOS Unbeatable prices for unmanaged VPS with unlimited 1 Gbps bandwidth.
  3. ScalaHosting Low-cost managed VPS hosting with completely unmetered 200 Mbps bandwidth.

What We Look For in the Best Unlimited Bandwidth VPS Hosts

The top criterion is pretty obvious, but beyond unlimited or very generous bandwidth, here’s what it took for a VPS hosting provider to make my list:
  • Generous “other” resources. Bandwidth allowance and port speed contribute to performance. However, the number of CPUs, the amount of RAM, and the volume of storage also affect the performance and scalability of your site(s), especially for VPS hosting.
  • Speed and reliability. In exchange for unlimited bandwidth, some hosts will set very low caps for your transfer rate. Your site’s loading speed and reliability are critical to visitor engagement and you shouldn’t have to sacrifice performance for unmetered site traffic. I only included hosts that don’t set a cap or offer above average transfer rates.
  • User-friendliness. Even if you’re a developer or experienced user, some VPS hosting platforms are easier to use than others. The hosts on my list offer user-friendly control panels and tools that are suitable for all experience levels.
  • Plenty of features. Some VPS hosts offer unlimited bandwidth, then limit the number of features included. We looked for hosts that include the features you want and need for free, or at least make them available for a reasonable price.
  • Solid security. Your host should provide enough protection to help prevent attacks, like a firewall, DDos protection, monitoring, two-factor authentication, and SSLs. If your site is compromised, it should also be able to help resolve the issue without minimal downtime.

Kamatera cloud VPS web hosting page
Kamatera’s features, performance, customizability, and reliability are the best we’ve found
Kamatera is both a great unlimited bandwidth option and an excellent choice if you’re open to a generous bandwidth limit. That’s because Kamatera offers unlimited bandwidth with transfer speeds capped at 50 Mbps. If you need faster transfer speeds, you can opt for a generous 1–5 TB monthly bandwidth limit with 10 Gbps rates instead.

To give you an idea, the upper range is far beyond what most websites require – even medium-sized sites typically use between 50 and 500 GB of bandwidth per month. And if you happen to still go over this amount, you’ll just incur a very small $0.01 overage fee for every GB of bandwidth over your limit. Kamatera’s relatively low prices mean that even if you have to pay overage fees, you’ll still be getting a good deal.

On top of flexible bandwidth allotments, Kamatera is one of the most reliable and best-performing VPS hosts with a vast network of 24 global data centers. It’s also one of the most customizable. You can build your server from the ground up, selecting the exact configuration you need. You can also scale these resources instantly without any downtime.

Features

  • Self-managed with full management available. By default, Kamatera’s servers are self-managed with full root access. For a monthly fee, you can purchase managed support for server maintenance and other time-consuming tasks.
  • Customizable server dashboard. Configure your main server management dashboard the way you want it to give you a quick glance at the information that’s most important to you, like resource usage and traffic.
  • Thorough redundancy. In the event of a hardware failure in any component, a backup instance will automatically deploy. All redundant servers are hooked up to a power supply system with an instantaneous failover mechanism and backed up by independent generators.
  • 30-day free trial. You can give Kamatera a 30-day test drive with no commitment with a $100 credit to spend on a server setup of your choice. You can create a cloud server with up to 1 TB of storage and 1 TB of bandwidth, and you also get a free technical consultation from a specialist.

IONOS VPS web hosting page
IONOS offers VPS plans with unlimited bandwidth and decent upload/download speeds
Tight budget? IONOS offers the cheapest VPS with unlimited traffic on this list. That said, while traffic is unlimited, it’s capped at 1 Gbps. Yes, this is a lot faster than Kamatera’s 50 Mbps, but it may not work for high traffic sites. You can’t upgrade to faster transfer speeds like with Kamatera, nor is IONOS’ network quite as vast.

However, IONOS’ low pricing and short-term, low-commitment contracts may make up for this. The VPS XS plan is available for just ‎$2.00 per month – and this price is for a monthly contract that never increases after renewal. Despite these low prices, you’ll still get access to plenty of features, including a customizable firewall and high-speed snapshot backups.

However, this XS server is very light on resources. With just 1 GB RAM and 1 vCPU core, you’ll struggle to run anything beyond a small site. Theoretically, you could run a basic WordPress site, but I’d recommend choosing the VPS S plan in that case – it offers 2 GB RAM and 2 vCPU cores while remaining highly affordable.

Features

  • Dedicated personal consultant. You can nominate one of IONOS’ support agents as your dedicated advisor. All support queries will be put through to this single point of contact, who can then develop an understanding of your needs in order to provide more useful support.
  • Premium support available. IONOS’ VPS is unmanaged. However, you can call IONOS to negotiate paid support for a wide range of topics, including troubleshooting third-party applications, server configuration, and more. If your request is feasible, you’ll be offered a quote.
  • Optional secure cloud backups. If you’re willing to pay a bit extra, you can purchase cloud backup storage powered by Acronis at any time. The cloud storage comes with ransomware and malware protection, along with heavy encryption.
  • Manage your hosting on the go. IONOS is one of the few major hosts that lets you manage your hosting via a dedicated mobile app. You can manage your VPS products, monitor performance, and handle invoices, all from your phone.

ScalaHosting resource and website management features
ScalaHosting offers plenty of value for money
If you’d like completely unmetered bandwidth (with transfer speeds of up to 200 Mbps) paired with a managed service, you may be interested in ScalaHosting. As part of its managed VPS packages, ScalaHosting will take care of your server setup, maintenance, and optimization for you. In addition, you’ll benefit from daily backups and snapshots.

Despite this nice set of features, ScalaHosting offers some of the lowest managed VPS prices on the market, starting at $22.46. It also offers unmanaged solutions, but since these are only around 30% cheaper than its managed plans, I’d suggest signing up for the managed plans instead.

With either setup, you can start with 2 vCPU cores and 4 GB RAM. However, unlike Kamatera, you’ll have to pay upfront for a yearly plan to get the best value. This is a significant commitment, even for the cheapest server. Unless you opt for a pricier managed AWS VPS package, you’re also limited to EU- and US-only data centers.

Features

  • Comprehensive control panel. ScalaHosting offers a proprietary control panel called SPanel that comes with a Joomla Manager and WordPress site manager called SWordPress. If you’d prefer to use cPanel, you can add it to your server for an additional monthly cost.
  • Robust security solution. The SPanel control panel comes bundled with ScalaHosting’s SShield security. It employs AI technology to detect and block web attacks. It also informs you of any potential vulnerabilities, with suggested fixes.
  • Free unlimited migrations. ScalaHosting’s support team will freely migrate all your websites to its platform. They’ll verify everything works as it should before completing the migration.
  • Anytime money-back guarantee. While most VPS plans lack a satisfaction guarantee, ScalaHosting offers a full refund if you cancel within the first 30 days of your contract. You’re also eligible for a full refund of any unused services thereafter.

InterServer cloud VPS web hosting page
InterServer’s VPS plans may not include unlimited bandwidth, but they’re still impressive
InterServer may not offer unlimited bandwidth, but its bandwidth limits for VPS plans are still very generous – especially for the price point. So, if InterServer doesn’t offer unlimited bandwidth, why is it here? Like I said, it’s very generous with bandwidth, especially as it’s on an ultra-fast 10 Gbps port.

A single-core VPS will most likely cost you less per month than a coffee and still deliver 2 TB of bandwidth. And with VPS plans of up to 16 cores and 32 TB of bandwidth, your site has plenty of room to grow.

InterServer offers Linux servers with free DirectAdmin and Webuzo, or cPanel for an additional charge. You can also get Windows servers with Plesk for an added fee. And then there are the “storage” servers for those who need TBs of storage space and don’t mind the slower spindle-type drives running it. The host has data centers on both US coasts. However, if your audience is overseas, you’ll want to consider a CDN or look into hosts with more global coverage like Kamatera.

Features

  • Free managed VPS at affordable prices. The more server you need, the more help you need to maintain it. InterServer understands this and includes free management regardless of server type once you buy 8 or more cores. With InterServer’s low prices and monthly payment plans, this is affordable.
  • Easily scalable. Need more power? On monthly contracts, you can easily add more cores at any time by simply upgrading your plan. Your site can grow with your business without a long wait or a big strain on your budget.
  • Cancel anytime. Because InterServer offers monthly plans, you have the option of canceling any time. But do note that there are no money-back guarantees or refunds for VPS hosting fees that you’ve already paid.
  • Choice of operating systems. You can set up your server with CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, Windows, and more. Work within your comfort zone without the need for a time-consuming learning curve.

5. DigitalOcean: Flexible Per-Usage Bandwidth Billing on Ultra Fast Network

DigitalOcean bandwidth calculator
DigitalOcean’s bandwidth calculator helps you estimate your monthly bandwidth costs
DigitalOcean offers one of the most fluid setups, with per-use billing and bandwidth usage. As expected with a per-use setup, bandwidth is limited but ranges from 500 GB to 11 TB/month. Premium Droplets offer a fast 10 Gbps network connection, while other Droplets still provide relatively fast 2 Gbps speeds.

But back to billing for a moment. The host’s plans start off reasonably, and you’re charged by the hour (up to 672 hours/month) or monthly if you exceed that threshold. Because of this, I recommend DigitalOcean for short-term or burstable projects and long-term hosting. Free extras include DDoS protection, load balancers, and a cloud firewall.

However, costs can quickly add up with separate charges for backups and snapshots. At first glance, pricing may seem similar to Kamatera – but keep in mind all Basic Droplets use shared resources, while Kamatera’s plans provide dedicated resources. You have to pay way more for dedicated-type Droplets, and there are no entry-level plans available.

Features

  • Developer-friendly features. DigitalOcean is very developer-friendly, offering a variety of services to make development and deployment easier. This includes its App Platform, educational resources, events, and sponsorships to help you grow your skills.
  • Custom SSD storage. Add 1–6 times the SSD storage to match your project’s needs without jumping to a more expensive plan. Your plan’s monthly and hourly pricing is only slightly affected, depending on how much storage you add.
  • Extensive API support. DigitalOcean’s plans support a variety of APIs, including its own DigitalOcean API, OAuth API, Metadata API, and Spaces API. This makes integrating your services and software so much simpler.
  • Global CDN integration. DigitalOcean offers an in-house CDN (called Spaces CDN) and Cloudflare CDN. The Spaces CDN offers faster delivery of your Spaces Object Storage data (also a DigitalOcean product). With DigitalOcean’s 15 data centers across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia, you’re also covered.

6. GreenGeeks: Beginner-Friendly VPS Hosting With Generous Bandwidth

GreenGeeks VPS web hosting page
GreenGeeks’ managed plans are a great choice if you’re not familiar with VPS hosting
GreenGeeks takes a different approach from most providers with its fully managed VPS hosting plans. These plans offer a generous 10 TB of bandwidth, capped at 100 Mbps speeds. While this setup may not suit all use cases, the other features that GreenGeeks has to offer may entice those who can still happily run a site on these specs.

Notably, GreenGeeks only offers managed VPS plans, which are way more accessible for beginners or the not-so-tech-savvy. There are all these freebies included, such as full security, free SSLs, and cPanel with Softaculous. Of course, this managed service does come at a steeper price, so if you’re running on a tight budget and can manage a server on your own, Kamatera or IONOS might be a better fit.

My favorite thing about GreenGeeks, though, is just how friendly and helpful their support team is. Not only do they reply quickly, but they are often willing to go out of their way to step in and fix issues – something that most hosts just don’t do. You can expect their managed services to be on par while also knowing you have a reliable support team to lean on.

A free domain name is included with some hosting plans from GreenGeeks

Features

  • Eco-friendly hosting. GreenGeeks puts 3 times its energy usage back into the grid in the form of renewable energy. It also plants a tree for every new customer who signs up for a plan.
  • Advanced security. With your GreenGeeks VPS plan, you get free 24/7 pro-active and real-time monitoring, DDoS protection, and free SSLs to secure your site.
  • Free cPanel site transfer. GreenGeeks offers free site migrations for up to 30 websites per VPS plan. The only stipulation is that the transfer(s) need to be cPanel to cPanel. Manual migrations for other setups are available but cost extra.
  • 24/7/365 support. GreenGeeks’ stellar technical support is available every day of the year and hour to assist you via live chat, phone, and ticket. I’ve personally contacted them at odd hours and over the weekend and got a response instantly or within an hour.

Other Notable Web Hosts With Unlimited Bandwidth VPS

7. InMotion Hosting

InMotion Hosting VPS web hosting page
InMotion Hosting offers a solid range of VPS hosting plans with unlimited bandwidth
InMotion Hosting offers a budget-friendly managed VPS service backed by a standout 90-day money-back guarantee. I recommend this host because all its higher-tier VPS plans come with unlimited bandwidth. Even its two entry-level plans, VPS 2 and VPS 4 vCPU, still provide 5 TB of bandwidth, which is sufficient for most high traffic sites and applications.

Storage is generous too, ranging from 50 GB to 460 GB NVMe SSD. However, it’s definitely not the cheapest service, especially since your control panel, security, and backups cost extra. But if you’re feeling fancy (and your website needs it), you can always add security and backups for a small monthly fee.

8. DreamHost

DreamHost VPS web hosting page
DreamHost’s VPS servers are managed yet affordable
DreamHost provides relatively inexpensive managed VPS hosting with unlimited bandwidth (which may change at DreamHost’s discretion). If you opt for one of these plans, DreamHost will take care of things like server maintenance, updates, and security patches so you can focus on growing your business.

In addition to unlimited bandwidth, you can host unlimited websites and domain-specific email accounts. You’ll also get free SSL certificates. Another thing that sets DreamHost apart is its 100% uptime guarantee. However, while a 100% SLA is superb, our performance tests found page loading speeds a little slow.

9. HostGator

HostGator VPS web hosting page
HostGator’s VPS plans include powerful hardware for better performance
HostGator offers a small range of VPS plans with 2–8 cores, 4–16 GB RAM, and 10–450 GB SSD storage. While bandwidth is unmetered, there are caveats to this. As the fine print warns, “You must stay within 25% of system resources for less than 90 seconds.” Is it just me, or is that a confusing statement?

Being owned by the same parent company as Bluehost (EIG), you can expect similar pricing and service. The main difference – and only thing I can see – is that you can opt out of purchasing a cPanel license with HostGator. However, HostGator’s prices are still very high compared to the resources. There’s also no phone support included, which can be a hassle.

10. Bluehost

Bluehost VPS web hosting page
Bluehost is both a beginner- and developer-friendly option with fast NVMe SSD storage
Pretty much identical to HostGator’s offerings, Bluehost also has a limited range of VPS plans ranging from 2–8 cores, 4–16 GB RAM, and 10–450 GB NVMe SSD storage. While it claims that bandwidth is unmetered, it also states that it has a cap of “25% system resource usage for up to 90 seconds.”

The VPS plans come with a “free” cPanel license. But it appears Bluehost just adjusted the pricing in such a manner that its plans are the equivalent of a HostGator plan plus a paid cPanel license. Just like HostGator, you also can’t choose your data center, and the prices are high relative to the resources offered.

How To Calculate How Much Bandwidth You Need

While you probably won’t need to calculate how much bandwidth you need on an unlimited bandwidth plan, it can be useful to know how to calculate your site’s bandwidth usage. There is some math involved (I’m sorry), but I promise you can do this in just a few steps.

1. Estimate your average page size. To do this, I’d recommend using online tools such as GTmetrix.com’s performance analyzer. This gives you the total page size of any URL you enter. Simply test some or all of your site’s pages, starting with the homepage, and calculate the average size in kilobytes.

2. Estimate your average monthly visitors. If your website is currently operational, utilize a site analytics tool such as Google Analytics to determine the monthly visit count and the average number of pages accessed by these visitors. In case your website isn’t live yet, feel free to provide an informed estimate.

3. Calculate monthly bandwidth usage. Multiply your average page size by the number of monthly visitors. Then, multiply this number again by the average number of pages each visitor accesses (it’s often only one page, depending on the type of site). Remember, 1,000 KB is 1 GB, and 1,000 GB is 1 TB. You may be able to view your website bandwidth usage on your control panel dashboard if it is already set up or has been live for some time.

4. Add redundant bandwidth. Increase your final result by 50% to 100%, giving you a redundant amount of bandwidth to fall back on during traffic spikes. That said, Kamatera offers up to 5 TB (or unlimited bandwidth capped at 50 Mbit/sec transfer) to start, so you probably won’t have to worry about going over the limit if you’re just starting out.

Here are some guidelines on the average bandwidth usage based on use case:
  • Small sites like blogs or portfolios: 1–50 GB
  • Medium sites like e-commerce shops or forums: 50–500 GB
  • Large sites like streaming or news sites: 1+ TBs

Here Are the Most Recommended Unlimited Bandwidth VPS Hosts

With the unlimited bandwidth hosting providers on my list, you should never have to worry about traffic limits or reaching a monthly bandwidth cap while still benefiting from quality VPS hosting. Best of all, these hosts all offer affordable starting points.

Which one suits you best? Your specific needs determine the right choice. If you find yourself unsure, here are my recommendations.

If you require a highly customizable environment with great performance to back it up, I’d go with Kamatera. Total bandwidth is technically unlimited, but you will have to manage with a maximum of 50 Mbps transfer. Or you can get a capped 1–5 TB monthly allowance with a faster 10 Gbps transfer rate.

Looking for the best deal on an unmanaged VPS? IONOS keeps costs low and traffic unlimited on a fast 1 Gbps. You’ll still save money over the majority of competing hosts even if you choose to pay monthly, but the best prices come with a 12-month commitment.

For a fully managed solution with unmetered traffic on a quick 200 Mbps connection, check out ScalaHosting. You can get a respectable amount of RAM and CPU power, along with full management, for a far lower price than the competition.

For a quick comparison of all these vendors, check out the table below.

FAQ

Are there any specific security considerations for VPS hosting?

Yes, security such as firewalls, DDoS protection, regular backups, SSL certificates, and server monitoring are crucial for VPS hosting. ScalaHosting offers robust security measures by including its SShield security suite for free with its plans. With some hosts, you can also purchase additional security add-ons for improved safety.

What happens if I outgrow my VPS hosting plan?

If you outgrow your current VPS hosting plan, most providers offer premium plans with more resources. For example, InterServer lets you upgrade to a higher-tier VPS plan with little interruption. However, some hosts charge overage fees for select resources, including bandwidth and storage, so make sure to check the fine print before upgrading to an unlimited plan.

Which is better: unlimited bandwidth or high bandwidth allowances?

That really depends on your estimated bandwidth needs. If your site gets little traffic, a high bandwidth allowance is fine. But if your website is high-traffic, a VPS plan with unlimited bandwidth is probably best. You’ll also want to note connection speeds. 1–10 Gbps connections can accommodate most uses.

What is the difference between unmetered and unlimited bandwidth?

Unlimited bandwidth implies that there are no transfer limits, but most hosts still monitor usage and enforce restrictions through fair usage policies or throttling. Alternatively, unmetered bandwidth lets you transfer as much data as you want, but the transfer rate is pre-determined by your plan. That said, your host may still track your network activity, though it won’t keep track of your usage. As always, it’s a good idea to read the fine print before signing up to a VPS plan.

Why should I consider VPS hosting?

VPS hosting offers several advantages, including greater control, scalability, and reliability compared to shared hosting. Kamatera’s unlimited bandwidth plans allow you to have your own virtual server with dedicated resources, customizable configurations, and the ability to handle higher traffic volumes. That’s why it ranks #1 on our list of the best VPS hosting services in 2025.

How do I know which unlimited bandwidth VPS host is right for me?

It depends on your specific needs, which can include the types of resources you’re looking for, whether you need Linux or Windows VPS hosting, and the level of management required. You should also evaluate web hosts based on their features in relation to price, reliability, performance, customer support, and promotional offers.

1. Speed is the single metric that matters in unlimited transfer hosts, next would be latency, and how do they perform cryptographically as they are very likely to be used in some form of tunneling/proxying. These metrics, or at the very least speed isn't listed in any of these. 2. "Nearly unlimited" no matter how generous it might seem is still not unlimited. 3. This article is a little misinformed, for instance, web hosting often has some form of "unlimited" attached to its plans, but VPS doesn't. Furthermore, some providers such as Dreamhost, for example; have different types of VPS offering: one usually based on KVM, Hyper-V, VMware, etc, an another being OpenStack which is the labeled often as "cloud"-something. This is usually the cheapest, the one likely to have unlimited traffic (such as Dreamhost's DreamCompute) and also the one with the highest learning curve. And then there's Kuberenetes. The articles overllooks all of this. 4. Transfer speed and transferred data (as in amount) isn't measured using the same base. One is binary, the other is decimal.
